These gears are made by cast iron and steel with single to multi stars categories. These gears are used specially for the cranes, equipments which are used for materials, sugar plants, chemical plants, coal handling equipments, steel rolling mills and in petrochemical equipments.

These gears connect parallel shifts. The involute teeth are cut in such a way so that an angle is formed to the axis of the rotation. The helix angle must be same in two helical gears although having opposite hands. These gears operate fast and smoothly. The load capacity of these gears are also high. The manufacturing cost of axial thrust becomes more when Helical gears are used for this purpose. To mesh two non-parallels shafts, helical gears are used. These gears are also used in crossed gear mesh connection of two perpendicular shafts. These gears have longer and stronger teeth and these gears are baled to carry heavy loads. This is due to the wider surface contact with the teeth. But, due to the wider surface contact, their efficiency also reduced. The gearing effect of these gears is quieter with minimum vibration.
